Kate! Love you! You rubbed suncream on me at glasto 2010, remember? Looook http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-4hy3K_Le44 Xxxxxx
This put my mind at ease. Thank you. You and Ryan are massive inspiration to me. As a male feminist I often feel alienated by peoples attitudes towards gender and listening to you both talk about it in interviews and stuff makes me feel less on my own
Its great to know that we are not alone in certain situations… I am going through almost the same thing. But you totally said it Kate,
you and your friends are rad!
♥
Hey! Great talk 🙂 really encouraging for those of us that stray off the beaten path!!! Anyways, I live in the US and was trying to buy, Where is my mind by Emmy the Great but i’m only able to find it on youtube. . . do you happen to know of another way to get the song? I’m literally in LOVE with it haha
Hey Kate,
I just wanted to let you know that I really appreciate your new podcasts and your general expertise in giving advice!
When I went to your concert here in Munich you were talking about encouraging young people, especially girls to make their own music and write their own songs. Just at that time me and some friends were caught up in this thought-pattern that we weren’t talented enough to write our own songs and uncapable of making our own music. Your encouragment really helped to overcome this misperception and I can’t express how grateful I am for that. It has increased our friendship so much and we always have so much fun, regardless of whether our songs turn out brilliant or horrible.
Thank you for being so inspiring both in making music and giving advice, you really helped me a lot! <3
(FYI: While I happen to be a boy, the two girls I write songs with are both girls. So with a score of 2:1 we help to fight the injust lack of female musicians, yeay :D)
